  • Human beings and objects share an interactive relationship, and the diversity among species that handle material resources is vast. However, the ability to endlessly discover ways to utilize these resources is unique to humans. As humans invent and explore the material world, they create knowledge communities, endowing materials with new meanings and values. Humans evolve biologically and culturally, awakening various senses through observations of materials and enhancing intuition. This process marks a crucial point where different elements converge to assign value. Utilizing a variety of objects, humans expand their range of actions with maximized strength and outcomes, enriching their capabilities through hands, minds, and hearts.

  • The installation filling the space alongside the PLASTIC PRODUCT SEONG-SU opening is the work of three-dimensional artist CHOI BYEONGSEOK. Exclusively created for this space, the latest work evokes the brand message of "finding utility in the useless." Using large shelves to sharpen pencils, turning off switches with hangers hanging on the wall, and repeatedly writing on the entire palm to turn on the lights, the artist shares that a chair with holes for emitting fart smells was an essential design element. Beyond the endpoint of using objects for their intended purposes, the work deconstructs unnecessary and inefficient elements, dismantling a channel that transitions from this to that, freeing actions and expanding the volume of thought. Accumulated seemingly useless actions generate an atmosphere, which soon acquires valuable utility. The exploration of CHOI BYEONGSEOK and PLASTIC PRODUCT align closely in these pursuits.

  • Taking a process that could be completed in one step and elongating it into multiple steps allows one to confront the hidden aspects of objects that were countless and concealed. This experience is akin to opening the lid of something that existed in two dimensions, discovering unseen algorithms, and imbuing the encounter with a sense of temporality. The artist inscribes small desires that arise from others and harmonizes them with the surrounding space. The insertion of unnecessary steps, resulting in the repetition of a light-hearted attitude, forms a cycle that resonates with the identity of PLASTIC PRODUCT, which sells plastic values.
